Split Shore Excursion, Walking Tour Split Trogir, Half-Day tour Trogir Split

Trogir has 2300 years of continuous urban tradition. The name comes from the Greek “tragos” (male goat). Its culture was created under the influence of the ancient Greeks, and then the Romans, French and Venetians. Trogir has a high concentration of palaces, churches and towers, as well as a fortress on a small island, and in 1997 was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Split is one of the oldest cities in the area. While it is traditionally considered just over 1,700 years old counting from the construction of Diocletian’s Palace in 305 CE, archaeological research relating to the original founding of the city as the Greek colony of Aspálathos in the 4th century BCE establishes the urban history of the area as being several centuries older. The Diocletian palace is preserved to this day and people still live in the palace. From then till today you will see many more objects that take you back to the time when they were built. You will be fascinated with this town more than words can ever say.
The tour guide will show you the sights in Trogir and Split and tell you all about the history of the place and buildings. If you need any information about what you can do in Trogir and Split for the rest of your stay, restaurants with domestic food, or things you can do for free.
Regarding our tours we advice you ; slow down, relax, ,revitalize your senses exploring nature, open your eyes and look carefully, touch nature around you and feel life in it. Overview

Historical Complex of Split with the Palace of Diocletian was included on the list of World Heritage Sites back in 1979.Take a walk through history and see the development of Split from the ancient Roman Empire to the present day. The City of Split, currently the largest Dalmatian city and port, situated on the Marjan peninsula, will reveal its 1700 years old secrets to you. Every single stone of this city has its own story that will be whispered to you if you only listen closely. Let the present behind and go back to the past; walk around the narrow streets of Diocletian’s Palace, visit the ancient Peristil Squares and feel like a true emperor on this place where people used to bow to the floor in admiration to the great Diocletian. Visit the ruins of his private chambers, his mausoleum which is the city Cathedral today, the ruins of Roman temples, the Golden and the Silver gates and excellently preserved cellar galleries. Let our guide lead your way through the Palace and then out of it to show you the further development of the city; its historic squares, streets, churches, markets and the famous seafront known as Riva. You can spend your free time on shopping for perfect souvenirs, taking pictures or just walking around and breathing in the history. After a brief time-out, we will continue our journey through history towards Trogir, a small, well preserved town sandwiched between Croatia’s mainland and the island of Čiovo. It is hard to find another town on the Mediterranean as small as Trogir and as rich in respect of the cultural heritage. This fact was noticed by UNESCO back in 1997 when Trogir was included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. This small town is a mosaic of monuments that date from the ancient Greek period to the Middle Ages and further on to the present. Stroll through the streets of this charming little town; admire an undeniable masterpiece of the Cathedral of St. Lawrence and the famous Romanesque Portal of Radovan, 15th century’s palaces of noble families, the Town hall and 11th century’s Benedictine monastery.
